On 02.6.2023, our Alden Yeoh was invited as a panelist alongside Ms Kalathevy S Sivagnanam, Ms Zemilah Mohd Noor and Ms Norhayati Mohamed for a roundtable discussion on the Conveyancing Practice and Land Rules in Selangor, WP Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor. The session was moderated by Mr Roger Lo Ming, the past Chairman of the Johore Bar and was the final session for the Southern Region Seminar on Conveyancing Matters, a full day physical seminar, co-organised by the Bar Council Conveyancing Practice Committee and the Johore Bar Committee.
The panelists explored the differences in the process and procedures (including the extent of digitalisation implemented at each state), the supporting documents required, the fees required, the time duration from commencement to completion of the process as well as certain peculiarities practiced at different land offices / registries. Participants in attendance also had the opportunity to pose questions and to seek the panelists' views.
We believe that the Southern Region Seminar on Conveyancing Matters was beneficial and thank the Bar Council Conveyancing Practice Committee and the Johore Bar Committee for the invitation to share at this very well organised Seminar.
